SOCIALIZATION AND PLAY & TRAIN
Dog Socialization
Would you like your dog to have friends and good social skills? You may have heard that socialization is crucial for a well-adjusted dog, but not all socialization is equal. In fact, if your dog has a bad experience with another dog, it can lead to fearful or aggressive behavior in the future.
That’s why these classes allow your dog the benefits of play and interaction while under the supervision of an experienced professional trainer. If your dog is shy or insecure and you worry about protecting him from schoolyard bullies or other bad behavior at the dog park, we can build your dog’s confidence while making sure he is protected. Or maybe your dog is the one who tends to be rude or plays too roughly. We'll help him learn how to interact more calmly and politely while still having fun.
Socialization classes last approximately 30 minutes. Classes are offered as part of our programs and are generally open only to clients. At times, dog-social dogs are invited to join after an evaluation. Contact us if you would like your dog to be considered.

Testimonial
I've been going to The Beauty of Dogs for training and socializing for around 7 years and Rebecca is great! I really like her style of training as well. I have 2 large dogs and I often get compliments on how well behaved they are and I always say it's because of the training and socialization that they received from The Beauty of Dogs. - Sam V.
Primary Puppy Socialization
This is your puppy’s primary learning time. There is an explosion of neural pathways being formed, and you want those connections to be beneficial. We’ll show you where to focus your efforts and how to take advantage of this opportunity that will never be repeated!
If you’ve seen people with dogs who go everywhere with confidence and want that for you and your dog, the quickest way to achieve it is to start with early socialization.
Even if you’re more of a homebody and your puppy's outings are more likely to be limited to the vet and the park, this primary socialization time is your chance to safely and positively introduce your puppy to everything you want them to cope well with as an adult, both in and out of the home.
Unfortunately, people often get socialization all wrong and can actually do more harm than good, and end up with the exact issues they were trying to avoid.
For four weeks, we will work on a new exercise specifically designed to capitalize on this primary socialization period. Our instruction will give your puppy positive exposure to other dogs, people, sounds, and surfaces necessary for good socialization. People love this bonding time while watching their puppy having fun and developing confidence.
Play & Train for Dog & Puppy Socialization
If you’re exhausted from trying to train your reactive, aggressive, or anxious dog, let us do the hard work by providing hands-on training directly from an experienced professional. This relieves your frustration while your dog receives the expert training he needs to progress faster.
Or, simply give your dog a special day of fun and adventure!
Training may be done at our facility, in your home, or in a public location. If you are unable to drop your dog off during the day, drop-off and pickup services may be available.
